Fashion’s Night Out 2009

Fashion’s Night Out was an amazingly fun and exciting event. It was like the Halloween of fashion – Madison and Fifth Avenues were filled with fabulous fashionistas stopping in at events all over the city from Bleecker Street to Barneys.

I started the night at Henri Bendel where I got to chat with Gossip Girl costume designer Eric Daman, my fashion icon! It was like talking to Jesus, only with better hair. The photo below is me, Eric and my good friend Brian. I wore a Nanette Lepore cardigan and dress with a gold Marc Jacobs Stam bag, and Eric crowned me with this pretty pink headband!

After we left Henri Bendel, we headed to Saks where Justin Timberlake was promoting his William Rast line on the fifth floor. It was packed with fans and fashionistas but Justin unexpectedly passed through the crowd with his body guards. In passing, I said, “Hi, Justin!” and he looked right at me and said “Hi, how are you?” It was pretty awesome.

My final stop of the night was the Juicy Couture flagship store on 52nd street. I chatted with an editor from New York Magazine’s Cut blog as well as Juicy Couture co-designer Gela Nash-Taylor and I proclaimed my love for the brand and how I stop by the store if I’m having a bad day.

Also in attendance were Vogue’s Grace Coddington and Hamish Bowles, who performed a few songs for the attendees. I had a great spot on his right and got a close-up look at his impeccably tailored suit, complete with pink rhinestone buttons on his shirt underneath. I also spotted handbag designer Rebecca Minkoff but didn’t get a chance to talk with her. It was rumored that Anna Wintour was going to make an appearance but I didn’t see her.

Headband Possibilities for Jenny in Season 3

queenj
I have to say that Little J’s $725 Jennifer Behr headband was probably my all-time favorite at the end of last season.

I tried to look for some headbands that mix Jenny’s spunky style and the glamour that goes with being the new Queen Bee at Constance. I’m not sure what direction her style will go in, or if she’ll wear headbands at all, but it will be interesting to see! Here are some I thought she might pick.

Juicy Couture Gets it Right

I’ve been browsing around the Juicy store and Saks and looking at their fall items and even though I have been a fan of the brand for years, I’m especially impressed this season. The cashmere cardigans and leather jackets have an especially luxe feel. The oversized tops and leggings are so on-point for fall.

My favorite piece is this baby pink cocoon cardigan – it’s supersoft! Subscribe to Juicy’s mailing list – I recently received a catalog and the last page contained a coupon for a $50 gift card with a $200 purchase!

Want it, Need it, Love it: Juicy Couture Luxe Fleece Hoodie

Perfect for mixing and matching! I love this hoodie in both colors. I think the June issue of People StyleWatch has a promotion where you can take 20% off all full-priced items at Juicy Couture stores by bringing in that page or mentioning a code, but I can’t remember if it’s PEOPLE20 or STYLE20 – but it’s definitely worth a shot!

Cute Juicy Accessories: Manicure/Pedicure Set

I love all Juicy accessories for the way they make everyday things (such as yoga, tying your hair in a ponytail) glamorous and fun with some pink, gold, sparkle, and general fabulosity. This mani/pedi set includes:

• Nail polish in burgundy, hot pink, pale pink, white, and coral.
• Foam toe separators.
• Clippers.
• Scissors.
• Cuticle pusher.
• Nail file.

It totally pays for itself! Think of all the money you’ll save from not having to get your nails done professionally! OR you can always take it to the salon with you :) Justified!

Cute Juicy Accessories: Towel-Bag & Beach Ball Set

I use Juicy as my excuse to purchase all kinds of ah-mazing accessories. My justification for wanting this beach ball and towel set is inspired by Rebecca Bloomwood. For example, when it is summertime, and I am wet from swimming, I will need a towel to dry me off.

Also, I am not of the athletically talented variety and am incapable of hitting an actual beach volleyball. (Have you ever tried it? It practically rips the skin off your arm!) Playing with an inflatable one is much more fun. And safe. And how can you criticize the purchase of athletic equipment when all you hear on the news is how Americans don’t get enough exercise?

I will buy this and this alone!
