Recommended Reading: Airhead and Being Nikki by Meg Cabot

Although I got Airhead for my birthday last year (I picked it out of course!) I only read it recently, and I loved it! The Airhead books have some elements of the typical teen-angsty-yet-fun novels but also incorporate the life of a model and conspiracy theories about her employer, Stark Enterprises.

Em Watts is your average Manhattan teenager. She’s a high school student who loves video games and has a huge crush on her best friend Christopher. After a tragic accident leaves her near death, her brain is transplanted into the body of Nikki Howard, a famous model who is the face of Stark Enterprises. Em gets to keep her life – kind of – because in exchange for the lifesaving surgery which must remain a secret, she must fulfill Nikki’s modeling contractual obligations. The rest of the world thinks that Nikki is alive and that Em is dead except for Em’s close family. I don’t want to give too much away by telling you about the sequel but I really loved both books! The third book in the series, Runaway, comes out in May 2010 and I can’t wait to read it!
